Therapy for Children

Children Reading the Holy Bible

In therapy for children, healing often involves a gentle process of disclosure. At Myspace Psychotherapy, we offer a range of therapeutic approaches—such as talk therapy, play, and art—so that each child can engage in a way that feels safe and natural for them.

This allows them to make sense of their experiences, including those that may be confusing, overwhelming, or painful. Over time, the process can foster emotional resilience, deepen their self-awareness, and help to restore a sense of control. Ultimately, it supports children in developing the confidence and inner strength to continue growing and thriving.

Below are some signs that indicate that your child may benefit from therapeutic support or intervention:

  • Sudden decline in academic performance

  • School refusal

  • Changes in mood and coping – low, anxious, irritable, withdrawn

  • Changes in sleep (insomnia, disrupted sleep, excessive sleeping)

  • Eating-related behaviours (excessive restriction, binge eating, excessive exercising/purging behaviours)

  • Expressed thoughts or indications of self-harm or suicidality

  • Observed or reported hyperactivity, impulsivity, or attentional issues

  • Aggression or difficulties regulating emotions

  • Persistent bed-wetting

  • Separation anxiety

  • Incident(s) or experiences of abuse or trauma

  • Navigating losses or changes/transitions (e.g., parental separation, relocation)
